Sarajane studied at the Chelsea School of Art and went on to get a BA degree in English Literature at Warwick university.

She started her career as Fashion Director at The Observer Newspaper. Anna Wintour lured her to British Vogue where she became Fashion Director and then moved with Liz Tilberis, to Harpers Bazaar US in the early 90’s as Editor At Large. During her tenure there she was also a Fashion Director at Frank Magazine. After a year as Fashion Director at US Glamour, she became Contributing Editor under Graydon Carter at Vanity Fair US until 2017. 

She has been instrumental in launching the careers of several models and photographers and has worked with most legendary artists including Steven Miesel, Herb Ritts, Steven Klein, Peter Lindbergh, Craig McDean, Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Testino.

Her styling for advertising campaigns include brands for Burberry, David Yurman, Carolina Herrera, Clinique, Chanel, Valentino, Stuart Weitzman, Lancôme, Decorte and Versace.

Her consultancy work has embraced working directly with Ralph Lauren and with the licensees of Vera Wang, Furla and Juicy Couture . 

Her book "Talking Fashion" was published in 2000 with exhibits at The Karl Lagerfeld Gallery in Paris and The Metropolitan Pavilion in New York.

She contributes regularly to all the international editions of Vogue and regularly consults with various brands over the globe in close collaboration due to her unique knowledge and impeccable taste.

She lives between London and New York.
